Cheek Implants

Plastic Surgeons serving Denver, Littleton, and Surrounding Areas in Colorado

Prominent cheek bones are a commonly desired trait that has long been synonymous with youth and beauty. If your cheeks have thinned or sunken due to aging, or if you never had the fullness of contour you desired, cheek implants can help add definition and balance to your facial features.

Grossman Plastic Surgery performs cheek implant procedures on men and women of all ages. Each procedure is customized to address your unique facial features. Cheek implants offer you a way to restore fullness to your face with very natural looking results.

Am I a Candidate for Cheek Implants?

Ideal candidates for cheek implants:

  • Are in good general health
  • Want to add definition to their face
  • Have realistic expectations for the outcome of the procedure

Cheek implants can be an effective way to improve your facial contour. Whether you have never had full cheeks or you are trying to correct a loss of fullness caused by aging, cheek implants offer you a permanent solution to your aesthetic goals.

The Cheek Implant Procedure

Denver plastic surgeons Dr. John A. Grossman and Dr. Philippe A. Capraro will perform your cheek implant procedure on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. The entire procedure can be completed within about an hour.

Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro will make an incision either inside the mouth or through the lower eyelid in order to avoid noticeable scarring. A pocket is created in the cheek bone beneath the soft tissue. A silicone implant is placed in the pocket, directly over the cheekbone, and it is stabilized quickly by the body developing a scar lining.

In order to further enhance the results of your procedure, Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro may recommend chin implants or jaw implants in conjunction with your cheek implant procedure.

Recovery and Follow-Up Care

You may experience swelling and bruising up to a week or two following your surgery. Applying ice to the region immediately after surgery can help reduce the swelling. You may experience some minor discomfort as well, but this can be alleviated with pain medication. If your implants were placed through your mouth, you will only be able to eat soft foods for a few days while your gums heal. You can generally return to work within a few days, but Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro recommend that you refrain from strenuous activity for several weeks until your healing is complete.

The Grossman Plastic Surgery Difference

Both Dr. Grossman and Dr. Capraro view every procedure as a potential work of art. They will evaluate all of your facial features before determining the ideal size and type of cheek implant to accomplish your aesthetic goals. At Grossman Plastic Surgery, our highest priority is helping you achieve results that augment your physical attributes so that your true beauty can shine through.
