One of the many questions our Denver area patients ask about breast augmentation is what can they expect after their surgery. Recovery is different for every individual and will depend upon several factors. During your consultation, we will discuss the details of what to expect after your surgery, but in general the following will apply.
- You will feel tired and groggy when you first wake from surgery. A friend or family member should plan to drive you home the day of your surgery and stay with you for the first day or two.
- You should arrange childcare for the first few days, especially for small children, as your movements will be restricted and you will not be able to lift your children.
- Your breasts may appear swollen and bruised. You will be wearing a compression garment to aid in healing.
- You will need to get up and walk around to stimulate blood flow and the body’s natural healing process, but you should restrain from any strenuous activity until released to do so by your surgeon.
