How Does the Breast Augmentation Procedure Work?

Plastic Surgeons serving Denver, Littleton, and Surrounding Areas in Colorado

At Grossman Plastic Surgery, we’ve always been committed to clear patient communication. We believe that when you possess an understanding of the procedure you’re about to undergo, you’ll feel more comfortable. When it comes to the breast augmentation, we make sure to fully explain the procedure to our Denver-area patients.

Fortunately, the procedure itself is relatively simple. A breast augmentation usually works like this:

  • We use anesthesia to make sure you experience no pain during the procedure
  • Our plastic surgeon, after consulting with you on your breast augmentation incision options, will make an incision in the appropriate location
  • Our doctor will create a pocket for the breast implant; again, the implant placement location will be decided before the procedure
  • We then place the implant (you will have a choice of silicone or saline breast implants) in the pocket
  • We close the incision

And that’s it. There are some specific details we will cover during our in-person discussions, but the above is largely what a breast augmentation consists of.

Our plastic surgeons will be happy to answer all of your questions, address your concerns and explain how a breast augmentation can help you meet your aesthetic goals.

If you’re a resident of the Denver, Colorado area and you’re considering a breast augmentation, please contact Grossman Plastic Surgery today.
